DCC: THROUGH THE WINDOW - JUNE 2025
Photography through windows can be a way to capture a transitional space, find a new angle for candid photos, or tell a story through framing and perspective:
A transitional space: Windows can record the space between inside and outside, which can be both intimate and unclear. This can allow the viewer to create their own narrative.
A new angle: Windows can provide a new angle for candid street photography.
A story: Framing and perspective can be used to tell a story to the viewer.
WCC: LIGHT PAINTING - JULY 2025
Light Painting: Light painting photography is a technique that uses a moving light source to create dynamic images by capturing light with a long exposure time. The photographer acts as an artist, painting with light to create an image rather than just capturing what’s already there. By using torches you can create a sense of movement in still photos and add depth and focus the viewer’s eye. Moving light sources can create unique patterns, textures, and more that showcase your artistic vision. Use coloured gels for vibrant effects or natural elements like fire for organic results. You are not bound to one form of photography here, you can go abstract, create dynamic portraits or landscapes, or have fun with still life’s. Let your creativity shine as you paint with light!
